We offer a flexible pre-kindergarten program that is geared towards Kindergarten readiness and staffed by two certified and caring early childhood educators. Our faith based curriculum focuses on helping our youngest students explore new interests, share wonderful experiences and grow together in knowledge and faith. Our program is built around weekly themes and activities and interactive centers. We play outside on our playground every day, weather permitting.
With our new space inside the main building right beside Kindergarten, our students have plenty of chances to interact with both Kindergarten and the upper grades. We get together weekly with our 4th grade prayer partners for reading, craft activities and celebrations. In addition, our children attend gym, art, music and library weekly with our Holy Cross teachers. They also attend our weekly prayer services and monthly masses.
Since we focus on Kindergarten readiness, children should be 4 by October 15 to enter the program. You may choose either a 3 day or a 5 day program, and either mornings (8:30-12:00) or full day (8:30-3:00.) While we are willing to accomodation your needs with the half-day option, we strongly prefer and recommend a full-day program in order to fully achieve readiness for Kindergarten and to take advantage of all of the programs and enrichment opportunities we offer. Our Extended Day program is available from 7:00-8:30am and from 3:00-5:30pm for children who need more child care coverage. If your child is staying for a full day, they may bring their lunch from home or purchase hot lunch supplied by the South Portland Public Schools.
