Our Faculty & Staff

Holy Cross School
“Meet The Faculty & Staff"
For those of you who don’t already know her, this is our Principal, Sister Theresa Rand. This will be the third year that the school’s administration will be in Sister’s very capable hands. She and Ms. Teri Randall, our Administrative Assistant, are always ready to greet the students, families, and visitors in the main office upon entrance to the building.
Our Primary Grades is where all of the fun and learning begin to establish a strong educational foundation. The Pre-K/Kindergarten team includes Mrs. Molly Hagerman, Mrs. Anne Babkirk, and Mrs. Kris Costigan. Together, they are well prepared to handle all of the challenges and extra care involved in dealing with our youngest students. They provide a warm, nurturing, and intellectually stimulating environment to start the children off on an adventure in school and prepare them for the move onto 1st and 2nd Grades where they will spend their days with Miss Kate Dickinson and Mrs. Connie Libby, respectively. You can just feel the excitement and growth as you walk past those classrooms and see the students eager faces as they engage in hands-on activities, Reading, and Math!
Elementary Grades 3, 4, and 5, teachers are Mrs. Louise Caron, Mrs. Susan Hasson, and Mrs. Kim Collins. Students strengthen their foundation here in the basics and begin to learn a lot more about the world we live in. What a wonderous thing this is! Our dedicated staff at this level also offer some enrichment opportunities after school such as Odyssey Of The Mind and a knitting club.
Middle School gives students the chance to move around a little in their day to meet different teachers in different environments. Mr. Bill Ridge is our Social Studies teacher and his room clearly reflects a wealth of richness of the past and present from world maps to the Internet displayed on his walls and overhead screen. The addition of Latin to his program will be an new language adventure for the kids this year. Literature and English are the subjects taught by Mrs. Katie Paladino. She tries to instill a love of reading and improve creative writing skills with her style and enthusiasm. The former Miss Foster also coordinates our annual civic oration contest and talent show. Math is taught by Mr. Jim Blaich and Science by Mrs. Julie Conroy. The importance of these two subjects can’t be underestimated and these very capable faculty members make sure our students are well prepared when they move on to high school. Mr. Blaich and Mrs. Conroy also serve as mentors and advisors to the 8th Graders in their final year at Holy Cross.
Well-rounded and creative students are the goal when it comes to enrichment classes at Holy Cross. We have been blessed with an outstanding Computer Lab, complete with Robotics and audio-visual equipment and much more led by our Technology Teacher, Ms. Connie Reagan. Artistic talent and inspiration are nurtured and encouraged by our fantastic Art teacher, Mrs. Karen Halvorsen. Mrs. Lois Johnson teaches Music and Drama, directs our plays, and leads our accomplished children’s choir as she provides the music for our weekly liturgical celebrations. The Physical Education instructor, Mrs. Jane Smith, is responsible for a very important part of our children’s health and development and her classes are so popular! At the end of the day, we have Mrs. Melissa Gilbert and her two capable aides, directing our aftercare program. Participation in Sports and Band are available.
All of our Faculty and Staff takes pride in providing the best education we can give your child as well as teaching and sharing the love of God and our Faith. We want to thank all of you, our parishioners, for everything you do to make that possible. We hope you are as proud of our wonderful cluster school as we are!
