We pride ourselves on our proven excellence in education. Our students are held to high standards and they live up to them. We feature an education that focuses on the basics

of Math, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts, including vocabulary and grammar as well as reading and writing. These subjects are enhanced by Spanish, Technology, Music, Art and Physical Education. We also work with Junior Achievement to have programs in all grades K-8.

Our Students:

• placed in the 90% in Standardized Testing in 2008-2009
• have had at least one Odyssey of the Mind team attend the World Finals as a State Winner for the last 5 years
• have won the Statewide Civic Oration Contest 3 out of the last 5 years; have been represented at the state level each year
• were awarded the McAuley Academic Excellence Scholarship and the Cheverus Ignatius Exam Scholarship in 2009-2010
• continue to succeed in High School. In a recent South Portland High School Honor Roll, 20 of the 32 students listed on the Honor Roll were Holy Cross graduates. 90% of the HCS Class of 2009 that attended Cheverus achieved Honor Roll and 100% of the class that attended McAuley were on their Honor Roll.
